Role Summary

Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented person who wants to role up their sleeve and participate in the delivery of marketing programs supporting innovative start-up and scaling companies.

As the marketing coordinator you, will work in a start-up innovative setting, contribute to driving the marketing and awareness of Innovation Factory services to the community through activities that include supporting the development of the market messaging and execution of the supporting tactics and plan, developing new features to for the corporate website, help with maintenance of online resource tools, supporting social media efforts, and execution of marketing and events. You enjoy working in a dynamic, team environment.

This is a up to 12 weeks’ contract, full-time position. This role will work collaboratively with all departments and teams within Innovation Factory and reports to the Director Marketing.

Note: This position will be available pending funding from Canada Summer Jobs which requires that eligible candidates are under the age of 30 years old and either a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
Rate – $16.55/hour

At the end of your internship, you are required to complete the Canada Summer Job Survey. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Innovation’s Marketing team
  • Design and update digital content (event banners, social media visuals, PowerPoints, etc.) in a way that aligns with Innovation’s established brand identity and guidelines
  • Support development and ongoing efforts of our website
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations and other materials that align to market messaging and needs of the organization to present at many events and to many different stake holders
  • Assist marketing team and other departments with local events for clients and community members
  • Assist marketing team and other with creation and/or circulation of online and print promotional materials.
  • Support social media efforts including reporting (Schedule content on Hootsuite)
  • Create and distribute monthly E-Newsletter

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled in or have recently completed a relevant post-secondary education, College diploma or University degree (For example: Marketing, Communication, Design, etc.)
  • Web design skills and knowledge of WordPress
  • Strong copywriting skills (marketing language)
  • Strong visual design skills (digital and print)
  • Social media (Twitter, LinkedIn; Hootsuite)
  • Writing e-newsletters and email campaigns (Constant Contact)
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Working Conditions

  • 5 days per week; 37.5 hours per week, regular daytime business hours are between 9 am EST to 5 pm EST.
  • Opportunity for a hybrid work model, allowing some remote work
  • Some localized travel required.
