About Innovation Factory & the Startup Visa Program
Innovation Factory is a business accelerator and incubator located in Hamilton, Ontario. We provide companies with advisory services, training, mentorship, and strategic connections to help bring disruptive technologies to market, leverage intellectual property, increase revenues, attract investment, and create jobs.
Canada’s Start-Up Visa Program offers Canadian permanent residence to qualified immigrant entrepreneurs. The program targets innovative entrepreneurs and links them with private sector investors or supporters in Canada who will help establish their start-up business.
Candidates can initially come to Canada on a work permit supported by their designated Canada-based investor/supporter, before qualifying for permanent residence once their business is up and running.
Innovation Factory has been officially designated by the Government of Canada, through the National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), to support candidate businesses looking to relocate to Canada via the Startup Visa Program.

How Does it Work?
Eligibility for the Start-up Visa program requires that your business venture is ‘supported’ by a designated organization, such as Innovation Factory. However, prior to consideration of your application, please ensure that you meet the requirements below:
- Your business venture meets all the eligibility requirements of Canada’s Start-up Visa program
- Your product or business is based in tech industries
- You own the Intellectual Property for your product
- Your business venture is in the growth stage, and has a minimum of $150,000 CAD in revenue in the past 2 years

PLEASE NOTE: This submission is not your official application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada for Start Up Visa approval. Rather, this is to initiate a process to determine Innovation Factory’s official support of your Startup Visa application.
Your application will be carefully assessed by our intake team to determine your compatibility with our programming. Please note that there is a high-demand for this program and we are receiving a large quantity of applications, expect up to two week for a reply from Innovation Factory on your application’s status.
