Role Summary
Our ideal candidate is a detail-oriented person who wants to role up their sleeve and participate in the delivery programs supporting innovative start-up and scaling companies.
As the Junior Business consultant/analyst you, will be focused on assisting the Innovation Factory Venture Growth team to support start up and scale up innovation companies. We are looking for someone who is an effective communicator, analytical thinker, problem solver, enjoys working in a dynamic environment and providing exceptional client services.
This is a up to 12 weeks’ contract, full-time position. This role will work collaboratively with all departments and teams within Innovation Factory and reports to the Business & Data Analyst.
Note: This position will be available pending funding from Canada Summer Jobs which requires that eligible candidates are under the age of 30 years old and either a Canadian Citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
Rate – $16.55/hour
At the end of your internship, you are required to complete the Canada Summer Job Survey. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Core Responsibilities
- Researching information on the innovation ecosystem and providing updates and insights to the Innovation Factory team
- Analyzing data and creating reports
- Assist in data collection
- Responding to general client inquiries
- Updating the CRM system
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in or have completed a relevant post-secondary education, College diploma or University degree (For example Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Administration, Communication)
- Strong writing, research, data analysis, project management skills
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft suite of software products – Office 365 (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Microsoft Teams) and Dynamics CRM.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- A flexible and a strong customer service attitude and able to work in a confidential environment
- Ability to work accurately under tight timelines and manage multiple deadlines
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for Hamilton and Halton Region, the innovation sector, government and community organizations
- Experience using Microsoft Power platform (eg- Power BI) would be considered as an asset
- Exceptional planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Workflow optimization/automation experience
- Standard operating procedures development experience
Working Conditions
- 5 days per week; 37.5 hours per week, regular daytime business hours are between 9 am EST to 5 pm EST.
- Opportunity for a hybrid work model, allowing some remote work
- Some localized travel required.
