YWCA Uplift – Data Analytics and Electrification program overview

Innovation Factory is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with YWCA Hamilton—the YWCA Uplift program. This collaborative initiative aims to achieve multiple objectives, benefiting not only Innovation Factory clients but also women and non-binary individuals seeking valuable work experience in a non-traditional workplace.

About the YWCA Uplift program

The YWCA Uplift program offers skilled support to Innovation Factory clients at the Validation, Efficiency, or Scale stage, with a full time team member who can provide mentorship to the candidate, towards completion of a data-specific project.

This 8-week job placement program, commencing on June 30, 2025 and ending on August 22, 2025, offers startups a unique opportunity to mentor and work alongside candidates who are passionate about data analytics and electrification. You can dedicate 3-10 hours per month to provide guidance to the candidates, ensuring that your project objectives are met.

Candidates are enrolled in the YWCA Uplift program and come with a solid foundation in data analytics and electrification. They are either reskilled or upskilled on the latest topics, ensuring they are equipped with the most current knowledge to add value to your project.

Our program leverages the expertise from McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute (MMRI). This collaboration ensures that candidates receive top-tier training and education, making them highly capable assets for your data-specific projects in areas like:

Data Analytics:

  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Data modeling
  • Data warehousing
  • Environmental data analysis
  • E-commerce analytics
  • Predictive analytics
  • Supply chain and logistics analytics
  • Social media and marketing analytics
  • Structured Query Language (SQL), BI tools, ETL design, and business intelligence (BC) design, redeployment and reporting

Electrification (UpliftMobility)

  • Electrification in automotive systems: Covering electric vehicles, the technical aspects of the vehicles and the future of this field.
  • Electrification in aerospace and aviation: exploring the unique challenges faced by air mobility, alternate propulsion systems, energy storage for aviation, sustainability and regulatory framework.
  • Electrification in infrastructure & smart cities: Focusing on smart grids, electrified public transport, and IoT-driven energy management.
