TrainingSeeker and MedStack Win at April ELEV8 Pitch Night

The results are in! Our ELEV8 Pitch Night winners are TrainingSeeker and MedStack! TrainingSeeker took home a $750 cash prize while MedStack was awarded a $250 cash prize.

Our most recent ELEV8 Pitch Night took place on April 5, and we were pleased to feature eight thriving startups that pitched to our audience and judges!

ELEV8 is a pitch competition that has companies who have a product in-market (or close to launch) present their business in an investment-style pitch presentation.

It’s designed to help connect our partners, mentors and the Hamilton community with up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

A full room of guests joined us to watch the following companies deliver their 5-minute pitches:

  • Areeba Athar of Input Health
    Input Health has developed a comprehensive cloud based health platform referred to as the Collaborative Health Record (CHR) which facilitates outcome driven interactions between healthcare providers and patients. 
  • Bob Telfer of Empatico
    Empatico leverages its research in the field of behavioural science and team dynamics to deliver software services that help predict, optimize, and accelerate team performance, using analytics to let you make better talent decisions. 
  • Heidi Albright of Pyngle
    Pyngle connects very busy homeowners with local on demand helpers to assist them with their everyday cleaning, painting and landscaping needs.
  • Reena Sandhu of SafeDose
    SafeDose Ltd. builds software platforms for industry and government to determine human health risk assessment: the process used to set “safe” levels of human exposures to chemicals.
  • Hassan Salam of Iaqob Technologies
    Iaqob Technologies connects casual chefs with foodies through our mobile app. They help people who are looking for healthy, diverse, homemade, and affordable food items in their neighbourhood, find people who like to cook and share.
  • Christabel Aryeetey of ToolLinked
    ToolLinked is creating sourcing solutions within the Manufacturing Industry with their new online business tool. Their goal is to be the most trusted online resource for the Tooling Industry.
  • Marko Babic of TrainingSeeker
    TrainingSeeker is Canada’s only online marketplace that enables customers to search, choose, and book safety training with certified training providers when and where they need it.
  • Simon Woodside of MedStack
    MedStack simplifies and accelerates achieving privacy compliance and system
    integration for healthcare apps, getting them to market faster, by building in privacy compliance and an integration-ready data model, prioritizing developer flexibility and ease of use without compromising best-in-class security.

Following each pitch, an expert panel of judges asked questions and based their evaluations on each company’s business model, value proposition, go-to-market strategy, commercial viability, and more. The judges included: Joan Hodge of Meridian Credit UnionAlex Ross of Gowling WLG, and Dominic Talalla of Trellis Capital Corporation.
