WATERLOO, Ont. 20 southern Ontario-based companies are receiving $30,000 in seed funding and $10,000 of in-kind business support services such as one-to-one professional mentorship under the Accelerator Centre’s AC JumpStart program.
Funded by FedDev Ontario and delivered in partnership with Conestoga College, the University of Guelph, the University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University, the program is aimed at helping technology and technology-enabled companies establish and grow their businesses in southern Ontario.
“The newest cohort is comprised of companies representing a wide variety of sectors, from artificial intelligence and MedTech to transportation and IT,” says Accelerator Centre programs and client experience manager, Leanne Armstrong. “277 startups have greatly benefited from both the funding and mentorship that come from AC JumpStart since it launched in 2015.”
Former recipients include ApplyBoard, named Canada’s fastest-growing technology company by Deloitte, and NERv Technology, winner of the world’s first Entrepreneurship World Cup and its accompanying $500,000 USD prize.
“AC JumpStart’s focus is southern Ontario, but it’s wonderful to see the positive impact and influence that recipients have throughout Canada and the world,” says Armstrong.
The AC JumpStart recipients in Cohort 12 are:

- Donor Engine
- Engager Rings
