YWCA Uplift Data Lab – Program Overview
Innovation Factory is excited to announce a groundbreaking partnership with YWCA Hamilton—the YWCA Uplift Data Lab program. This collaborative initiative aims to achieve multiple objectives, benefiting not only Innovation Factory clients but also women and non-binary individuals seeking valuable work experience in a non-traditional workplace.
“We aim to build relationships with companies who share our and the YWCA’s vision of achieving a highly qualified gender-balanced workforce in high-tech industries. Women and non-binary individuals are historically underrepresented in Data Science and Data Analytics. You may have a role model at your company who can share their personal journey as an inspiration to their matched candidate further amplifying their job placement experience.”
About YWCA Uplift Data Lab
The YWCA Uplift Data Lab program offers skilled support to Innovation Factory clients at the Validation, Efficiency, or Scale stage, who have incorporated their business with at least one T4 employee, towards completion of a data-specific project.
This 12-week job placement program, commencing on January 15, 2024, and ending on April 5, 2024, offers startups a unique opportunity to mentor and work alongside candidates who are passionate about data. You can dedicate 3-10 hours per month to provide guidance to the candidates, ensuring that your project objectives are met.
Candidates enrolled in the YWCA Uplift Data Lab program come with a solid foundation in data analytics. They are either reskilled or upskilled on the latest topics in Data Science and Data Analytics, ensuring they are equipped with the most current knowledge to add value to your project.
Our program leverages the expertise of professors from prestigious Ontario universities—specifically, the University of Guelph and McMaster University. This collaboration ensures that candidates receive top-tier training and education, making them highly capable assets for your data-specific projects.
