BioPolatis is a Canadian-based cleantech startup pioneering the transformation of food and agricultural waste into high-performance, 100% compostable bioplastics. Using a proprietary, solvent- and toxin-free reactive extrusion process, we develop biodegradable materials that are not only environmentally sustainable but also economically viable and scalable for real-world applications across packaging, agriculture, and consumer goods sectors.
Our innovation tackles two urgent global challenges—plastic pollution and organic waste management—by advancing circular economy principles. Our technology leverages locally sourced agriculture-food waste as a primary feedstock, either on its own or in combination with biodegradable polymers such as PBAT, PBS, and PHA. The result is a new class of compostable materials with improved mechanical strength, durability, and compostability, designed to meet the performance demands of conventional plastics without compromising environmental integrity.
