Last Thursday, May 11, Innovation Factory hosted our annual Open House and Client Showcase, The Big DiF. We were pleased to welcome members of our ecosystem and beyond to celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship in Hamilton.
Attendees at The Big DiF were able to network with 11 of our client companies and learn more about their exciting innovations. Our showcasing clients included: AIVA Labs, Bruha, Flyte Studios, Gene Blueprint, Grow A Seed, InnovoGENE, Log Cabin, Lumago, Nanophyll, Owl Ops, and Weever Apps Inc.
Part way through the evening, iF Executive Director David Carter took the stage to say a few words of thanks to our partners, sponsors, and community members. While we reflected on prominent client successes of the past year, we also took the opportunity to remember a past DiFizen and active community member, Jim Rudnick.
The highlight of the evening was finding out who the 2017 DiFizen of the Year would be. The Mark Chamberlain DiFizen of the Year Award is presented to a member of the iF ecosystem that goes above and beyond to support growth and excellence. This year, we were fortunate to welcome past DiFizens to present Andrew Holden as the DiFizen of the Year! Andrew is the Co-Founder and CTO of Weever Apps Inc., a thriving “mobile workforce management” software firm.
Thank you to everyone who made this a truly special and memorable evening!
