Karen Maraj, Support Specialist @ Shopify Plus

Karen Maraj is a Plus Support Specialist at Shopify, where she helps Shopify’s most successful merchants with their diverse business and technical needs. With expertise in UX, digital marketing, and e-commerce, she provides a holistic service experience to ensure Plus merchants can make more money.

Karen began her career at OMERS, managing their websites and intranet over 15 years. She then embraced entrepreneurship, combining her love of travel and photography as an affiliate marketer.

Karen founded and hosts events at the Hamilton Ecommerce & Online Entrepreneurs Meetup. She co-founded Unitralis, which produced Blocktech Connect, a 2-time technology conference in Hamilton. Karen also mentored startups at The Forge Incubator, McMaster University Engineering Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Mohawk College.

She moved to Toronto from Guyana as a child, lived in Thailand as a digital nomad and now calls Hamilton, Ontario her home, where she enjoys the RBG and trails with her dog, Benji.
