Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in people over 60 and accounts for 90% of new cases of blindness in Canada. Early diagnosis is critical to preserve a patient’s vision, unfortunately, studies show that up to 25% of people over 60 show early signs of AMD that their eye doctor has not detected.
