BRANTFORD, ONTARIO – The Digital Main Street Community Collaboration Project, a partnership between the Brantford-Brant Business Resource Enterprise Centre (BRC) and Hamilton’s Innovation Factory, launched today in an effort to assist restaurants and retailers with their digital marketing efforts. Through the project, 44 Brantford restaurants and retailers will receive digital marketing assistance in 2021.

Businesses selected for the program will receive a one-year subscription to ShopBrantford.com, a locally-owned digital marketing platform and directory, as well as access to the Digital Main Street Transformation Teams to help bolster their business’ online presence.

The Digital Main Street Community Collaboration Project funding was made possible through financial support from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and the Government of Ontario. It will be used to offer select local businesses a suite of digital marketing tools including: ecommerce functionality, online gift card sales, social media scheduling and preferred placement in ShopBrantford.com’s directory of over 3,000 locally-owned businesses. Assistance with graphic design, web design, copywriting, UX/UI and digital marketing will also be available to these businesses through the Digital Main Street Transformation Teams program.

The 44 businesses included in this funding will be restaurants and retailers who have a physical presence within the borders of the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Area. Businesses selected for this program have already been contacted. Those that meet the criteria, but are outside of the Downtown Brantford BIA are able to join a waitlist by visiting shopbrantford.com/digitalmainstreet.

“The BRC is excited to participate in the launch of The Digital Main Street Community Collaboration project in partnership with ShopBrantford.com and Innovation Factory,” says Mae Legg, Senior Small Business Consultant at the Brantford-Brant Business Resource Enterprise Centre. “This new initiative gives local small businesses an opportunity to strengthen their online presence and promote their products and services through a community driven online marketplace.”

“This investment in ShopBrantford.com will help us connect more businesses with local shoppers who are seeing in real time how supporting local helps to keep doors open,” says Avery Moore Kloss, owner of ShopBrantford.com. “Through this partnership not only are we able to help 44 businesses in downtown Brantford, but this boost will also help bring attention to the hundreds of businesses already using our site as a digital marketing tool.”
