Mabel’s Labels lick problems

Hamilton-grown label leader Mabel’s Labels is using a federal grant to lay the groundwork for its next growth.

The company received a $145,450 grant from the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program to upgrade software, boost its website and enhance label design.

The company also got close to $50,000 last year to improve workflow and efficiency that resulted in 20 per cent greater accuracy for orders and 30 per cent less material waste, said Julie Ellis, company co-founder.

“The results were even better than we expected.”
