CBC Hamilton published a piece on the growing tech sector in Hamilton. As the article states upon opening, 2016 was the proclaimed “biggest year in history” for the relatively young but flourishing sector. Kevin Browne, a software development professor at Mohawk College and owner of the blog Software Hamilton, attributes this to “the fact that [Hamilton] had [company] exits and funding”. In 2016, Hamilton tech businesses were, collectively, acquired for tens of millions, and innovative, ambitious software companies are offering high-paying jobs.
