Regulatory Considerations for Transportation/Mobility: The MVSA and Beyond
Innovation in the automotive space comes with a complex set of regulatory hurdles. Non-compliance isn’t just a risk; it can be a hard stop for your venture’s journey to market. Navigating Canada’s legal framework under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA) requires precision and expert guidance.
This online session is designed to provide founders, engineers, and product leaders with a clear, strategic overview of Canada’s regulatory regime. We’ll cut through the legal complexity and focus on the information you need to ensure your product is compliant, safe, and ready for deployment.
What to expect
This session will equip you with a foundational understanding of the MVSA, with a critical focus on the key areas that impact your go-to-market strategy. The expert panel will explore:
- Core Compliance: A high-level overview of the non-negotiable requirements, including federal safety standards, mandatory labelling requirements, and mandatory recall obligations.
- Aftermarket Complexity: An in-depth exploration of the complexities surrounding aftermarket parts and accessories. We’ll clarify how to determine whether your product falls within the scope of the MVSA or is instead governed by separate consumer product legislation.
- Q&A with an Expert: Your opportunity to ask specific questions about compliance, product classification, and regulatory timelines.
Who should attend
This webinar is vital for founders, innovators, and legal/regulatory leads working on products within the transportation and logistics industry, including new vehicle technology, component manufacturers, and developers of aftermarket parts and accessories. If your business interacts with vehicles on public roads, you need to understand the MVSA.
