Protecting innovation on the move: IP for Transportation and Mobility

Supply chains are shifting, and the stability of the North American market is increasingly uncertain. For transportation and mobility companies, this new landscape makes intellectual property (IP) strategy more critical than ever. As companies innovate to address evolving logistics, infrastructure, and automation needs, safeguarding proprietary technologies is essential to maintaining a competitive edge. A strong IP portfolio not only protects innovation but also signals value to investors, supports strategic partnerships, and builds long-term resilience. In today’s climate, smart IP planning isn’t just a legal step—it’s a foundational strategy for growth, differentiation, and long-term success in the mobility sector.

Miller Thomson’s deep expertise in IP law equips transportation and mobility startups with the tools to strategically protect their innovations, navigate shifting market conditions, and position themselves for sustainable growth. His guidance helps founders turn IP into a lever for resilience, investment readiness, and competitive advantage.

Join David Schnurr, Partner at Miller Thomson, to explore how a strategically built IP portfolio can serve as a foundation for success. You’ll learn how to safeguard your proprietary technologies, support commercial partnerships, and stand out in a competitive market.

What you’ll learn:

  • A clear understanding of how IP strategy supports business growth and resilience in transportation and mobility sectors.
  • Actionable steps to identify and protect their core innovations through patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
  • Insight into common IP pitfalls and how to avoid costly legal and competitive missteps.
  • Guidance on using IP to attract investors and strategic partners with confidence.
  • A road map for integrating IP planning into product development and commercialization from day one.
  • Startups should meet and work with David at Miller Thomson to gain strategic, hands-on IP guidance that protects their innovations, strengthens their market position, and accelerates investor confidence.

Whether you’re building new technologies in connected transportation, mobility automation, or infrastructure innovation, this session will give you the insights and tools to protect your innovation—and turn it into a lever for growth.

Who should attend:

This session is ideal for startup founders, innovation leads, and product developers working in transportation, mobility, or logistics who want to better understand how to protect and leverage their IP.
