Inclusivity Business Resource Series: The Federation of African Economics

As of December 2021, Canada had 1.2 million employer businesses. Of these, 1.1 million (97.9%) were small businesses, with only 144,980 being black-owned. Data shows that access to capital is the greatest barrier for Black entrepreneurs, with 75% stating that they would have difficulty finding $10,000 to support their business. There is a dearth of information within the community.

It is to this end that FACE Coalition was established to facilitate access to resources, information and funding for black entrepreneurs to catalyze their business growth.

You will get an insight into why the Government of Canada set up the Black Entrepreneurship Program, how to access up to $250k of the $160million, as well as how to access all the grants, free mentorship, networking and professional services available to you.

We will discuss:

  • The BEP of the government of Canada
  • How to access up to $250k for your business
  • How to list your business on a platform that helps you reach a wider audience
  • Other grants, mentorship and networking opportunities within the ecosystem

This session is for Black entrepreneurs who have registered and run their businesses for at least 3 months.
