Haltech’s Need 2 Know Business Workshop Series:
Understanding Talent Acquisition & Ontario’s New Employment Law

This workshop will help business owners understand the recommended steps to attract and acquire new talent, including executive recruitment and compensation, as well as best practices for on-boarding & retention. Attendees will also hear from our employment law expert about the new Bill 148 and changes to Ontario’s employment laws that will impact your business.

As a pioneer of the philosophy that the Human Resources function be recognized as a strategic enabler, aimed at delivering sustainable organizational change and enhancing business performance, Judy held senior level positions with both Canadian & International HR Firms spanning a period of 22 years.  Playing a pivotal role in uniting company cultures & streamlining operations, Judy now offers her expertise to technology start-up operations as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Haltech.


Judy brings over 25 years of recruitment industry experience.  Judy has a significant network of potential candidates and a strong referral network.  Having held senior roles herself, Judy is adept at networking and interviewing senior leadership candidates up to and including the C-suite.   Judy is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.

Christopher Bergs has been practising exclusively in the area of employment and labour law since 2008 and is well-versed in the legal issues affecting today’s Ontario workplace.  Chris works closely with employers to help them manage their employees in a way that achieves business objectives while avoiding legal problems.  If issues do become contentious, Chris is a creative negotiator and a tireless advocate.
