Conversations impact all aspects of our personal and professional lives. Sometimes these conversations flow smoothly and easily; other times they are tough and even distressing. Tackling Tough Conversations walks though the mechanics of working through hard conversations, explores the spirit of healthy dialogue and empowers workshop participants to be at their best when tough conversations have to happen, whether in or beyond the workplace.
Participants will walk away with:
– A better understanding of how conflict evolves and escalates
– Understanding their primary conflict style
– How to approach and structure a tough conversation
– An incident-based conversational model that you can apply right away
– Tools on how to move past an entrenched conflict
About facilitator: Jason Dykstra, B.A., MAL, Acc. F.M.
Jason is the VP of Engagement with Credence & Co. and assists in transforming organizations and individuals from conflict situations to creative solutions. An international speaker and trainer, Jason specializes in relational and communication matters and uses his experience in facilitation, mediation, coaching, and training to aid individuals and groups in their respective journeys. Jason brings with him an extensive background in the social profit (not-for-profit) world.
Jason is a life-long learner and recently finished his Master of Arts in Leadership. He is an accredited family mediator (Acc. F.M.) and a member in good standing with HRPA, ACR, and OAFM. Additionally, he currently serves as a Director for the Board of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario. He has a B.A. with a double major in English and Psychology and an Advance Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation.
