Two Innovation Factory clients are joining forces!
Joyride Technologies, a smart bike tracking and analytics company, has formed a new partnership with Start The Cycle, a bike sharing operator that lets students borrow a bike like you borrow a book. By integrating Joyride’s smart sensor technology with their bikes, Start The Cycle will be able to quantify the full success of their operations and better serve cyclists. The added technology will also serve as security feature for the bike fleet.
“We’re excited to help Start The Cycle collect valuable metrics to learn how students are using their bikes,” said Vince Cifani, Founder and CEO of Joyride. “Measuring your impact is the key to building any sustainable program.”
By integrating Joyride’s sensors, Start The Cycle will be able to monitor where and when cyclists are travelling and which routes they take the most.
“The cycling culture is growing on campuses across Canada. Our campus Bike Libraries themselves have generated over 1,100 checkouts since their inception. Data collection through libraries helps us get a better understanding of student cycling needs and working with Joyride will be an invaluable partnership. Allowing us to improve our model and developing the ultimate student bike sharing system,” said Shiloh Covey, Director of Start The Cycle.
As an adopter of smart sensor technology, Start The Cycle is acknowledging the rapid growth and importance of cycling in communities. Collecting meaningful cycling data better supports cyclists and cities.
