Even if you’re not an avid gamer, you’ll likely recall retro video games such as Super Mario, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Frogger. They’re classics, and inspire a sense of nostalgia for straightforward gaming. Even though games with state-of-the-art digital graphics have been at the forefront in recent years, these vintage-inspired games are making a serious comeback.
Several games following this stylized pixel trend have received critical acclaim, but there are currently no online role-playing games that offer true cross-platform, multiplayer interactivity. Hamilton-based indie game development studio Thrive Games wants to change that.
