It started with an idea to fill a gap in healthcare – enhancing quality of life for patients with chronic and short-term illnesses in their own homes and involve the entire circle of care.
Eight months later, this idea, brought to life as the iUGO Health (formerly CareKit Health) platform at the e-Health 2015 Conference Design Challenge hackathon, was sold for $2 million in shares and performance warrants to Reliq Health (formerly Moseda Technologies), a publicly-traded mobile healthcare technology company based in Vancouver. “We never imagined this would happen in just eight months,” said Leo Godreault, who founded iUGO Health in Hamilton, Ont. “We were in the right place at the right time. The sale to Reliq was a perfect opportunity to accelerate our growth and expand our customer base.”
