Meet with BARDA by JLabs

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), a unique part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, partners with biotechnology firms large and small with the aim to develop and make available medical countermeasures such as vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics to meet the threat of chemical, biological, radiological agents, emerging infectious diseases, and pandemic influenza. Johnson & Johnson Innovation has launched a collaboration with BARDA, aiming to stimulate innovation and incubation of technologies of mutual interest.
On wed, September 30th, BARDA will present on different engagement pathways available for Canadian innovators to engage with BARDA, such as traditional funding award opportunities, and, BARDA’s Division of Research, Innovation, and Ventures (DRIVe), which was launched with the aim to accelerate the development and availability of transformative technologies and approaches to health security “threats”.
*This program is a product of a collaboration between Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS (JLABS) and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), a component of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Apply for a 1:1 Meeting with BARDA
BARDA is seeking new partners with preparedness and commercial applications in the following priority areas for general and at-risk populations (including pediatrics):
· Pandemic influenza and emerging infectious diseases
· Alternative vaccine and drug delivery techniques
· Early and/or pre-symptomatic disease detection
· Advanced manufacturing capabilities
· Point-of-care diagnostics for use outside of medical settings
· Disruptive and non-traditional modalities for addressing antimicrobial resistance
· Approaches to address sepsis
BARDA representatives will be accepting 1:1 meetings to take place in September (applicants accepted for a meeting will be notified)
